The Women's Ministry is a valuable function in any church.  The first Women's Ministry began with the Ministry of our Lord.  It was the women who assisted in the Ministry of the Disciples and Jesus and they were the last to leave the cross and the first to be at the tomb on resurrection morning.  Women are created with a compassionate heart and one of their best characteristics is their natural instinct to care for those in need.

Our Women's Group in Thaxton Baptist Church is no different.  They work in the nursery, kitchen, teach Sunday School, teach Bible School, play the piano and organ and sing in the choir.  You can find them, many times in the background, of just about any activity of the church.

The Official Women's Group of the Church meets the 1st Sunday of the month at 4:15 p.m. and is facilitated by Tina Hooker.  This group plans and carries out activities for the women in our church to help them grow up in the Lord. We have participated in Bible Studies, cooked food for new mothers or those who are sick, and even have a "Couch Potato to 5K" walking/running group.
